Co-injection Molding aka Bi-Injection Moulding

Is it for you?

Co-injection molding offers a spectrum of product design and cost options. If you're not familiar with it, it's the process of using two different types of polymers to fill a mold chamber. Why you might consider this process can include design, feel, functionality, and cost issues.

For example, if you want to reduce the cost of your substrates or resins, you can simply use higher quality heat and shatter resistant substrates in the shell and use less expensive plastics in the core.

If you want to alter the feel of your products, you can use a softer shell and a harder rigid polymer in the core. Densities can also be manipulated so that the center of gravity of your product can be placed off center or so that your product floats at precisely defined angles in liquid.

While the cost of co-injection or bi-injection molding is higher from a time and labor perspective, if you catch us during off-peak production seasons, your total costs can be very low if you use the right polymer pairs.

But to know what your options are, a conversation with us might be useful to you...
